Tom is a GP with specialised expertise in Sport and Exercise Medicine, particularly in team sports.
He holds an MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. As a member of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, Dr. Leggett brings extensive experience across sport, exercise, and musculoskeletal medicine.
He is currently the Team Doctor for England Rugby Men’s U18s, Match Day Doctor at Sale Rugby, Lead Para Doctor at The FA, and Club Doctor at Port Vale Football Club. He also provides sports medicine support at Rugby School and works as a Specialty SEM and MSK Doctor in University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL).
Dr. Leggett has a wealth of experience in diagnosing and managing concussion across the sporting spectrum. He has worked extensively in elite rugby environments as well as within grassroots sport, with a strong focus on safe return-to-play, player welfare, and education of athletes, coaches, and medical teams.
